Sarah Kolb and Adrianne Reynolds were teenagers at the time of the murder. In 2005, Sarah Kolb was convicted of murder after brutally killing 16-year-old Adrianne Reynolds with the help of her boyfriend, Cory Gregory.
Kolb and Reynolds attended the same high school in Illinois and had a falling out over a mutual love interest. After Reynolds showed up at Kolb's house to try and reconcile, things took a dark turn.
Kolb and Gregory killed Reynolds and attempted to dispose of her body by burning it in the trunk of a car. After being convicted, Kolb was sentenced to 53 years in prison. Gregory was also convicted and sentenced to 45 years in prison.
The case received national attention due to the gruesome nature of the murder, as well as the ages of those involved. It is often cited as an example of how bullying and jealousy can lead to extreme violence.
